In order to reach a desired destination, one must prepare adequately for the journey.
To that end, we advise our young people and their families to have a firm idea as
to which road they would like to follow, in the same manner that recent college grads
are told only to apply to jobs they would actually want. We expect our students to
try many things, but only to love a few. We begin with those experiences they love--sports,
arts, music, civil service, etc--using them as motivation to work harder in other
key areas as well as cultivating their skill levels in their fields of choice. This
is how we differ from our competitors. Many programs specialize in specific extracurricular
areas, and others focus exclusively on academic development. (381) works with teachers,
after school programs, and other extra-curricular organizations to identify the most
viable candidates for our services. We work with those programs to maximize the
student experience through mentorship and internship whenever possible. We then
build our student résumés with targeted skill-building in critical areas such as:
financial literacy, civic responsibility, formal writing, and public speaking, to
name a few. We then assist in the Secondary School application process and continue
to provide services through to graduation.
